I suppose every collie lover has had a collie named "Lassie" and I am no exception. My first collie was my "Lassie" and she was a wonderful collie friend. It was hard when she got older and as big dogs do, started having hip problems. It grew worse till I could only do the kindest thing and let her go to sleep and hurt no more, but I will never forget her, and there will never be another one quite like her! Many more have come along, every one is different with different personalities, just like children. I now have collies in every color they come in, lots of whites. I love the blue merles, but of course I love the sables and tris too, so I can't really say one is my favorite. I love them all. Collies are such wonderful family dogs, they love children and are so easy to train, they are so smart and so loving, there is just nothing like a collie.
